Shropshire Boutique Recognised as Top UK Bridal Retailer
Heavenly Brides of Shrewsbury has been recognised as one of the UK’s top bridal retailers. The Bridal Retailer UK Power 100 is a recognition of outstanding work within the bridal sector and a dynamic network where industry leaders can collaborate and inspire. The National Wedding Show, collaborate with an external company and the selection process is based on a mix of customer reviews, marketing activity, website and social media presence.
Suzanne Heavens (42), proprietor, said “When I opened the email, initially I thought it was a hoax – but it soon became obvious that it was very real. It was such a lovely surprise; I am still in shock – it’s nice that an organisation as large as them has recognised my small business as one of the top 100 bridal retailers in the UK – according to Google there are currently 3855!” Suzanne attended an exclusive luncheon in Birmingham to celebrate the recognition.
This isn’t the first time Suzanne has been in the limelight – last year she was featured on Channel S4C wedding reality TV show – Priodas Plum Mill – and has also been nominated for a Wedding Industry Award which is due to be unveiled in March 2025, for which good luck messages have been sent in abundance. Suzanne said “I have had so many messages of congratulations from friends, customers and associates – I’m feeling really positive about my business right now, which I believe is something to be proud of in itself. I think the next few months are going to be quite busy for me, as I am also organising a wedding fair within the Shopping centre for 28th/29th September”.
Suzanne, who lives in Shrewsbury with her teenage daughter Beth, decided to open the boutique nearly 12 years ago (having worked in the bridal industry for six years prior to that). The motivation to become self employed and follow her dream came after she had a life-threatening condition during pregnancy called HELLP Syndrome. She decided that life was too short not to persue her passion. Since then she has helped hundreds and hundreds of brides-to-be across the county and further afield, and is well known for her honest and friendly advice when helping a bride choose a gown. She said “I adore my job, I love helping brides find their bridal gown – they leave the store happy and full of confidence”.
