It’s quite unusual for us to be attending a wedding fair at this time of year as most of them tend to happen around Jan-March and Sept-Oct, however, we have been accepted to attend the wedding fayre at Albright Hussey Manor Hotel in Shrewsbury Shropshire which I am so very excited about as it’s a really superb venue! I believe this is just their 2nd ever fayre too! If you’ve never been you really ought to come to their wedding fair which starts at 12noon and then they are having a prize draw at 3pm with the event finishing at 4pm Sunday 25th June 2017.
I like going to wedding fairs – I’m quite a chatterbox though so for me, meeting new people – whether they be potential customers or fellow wedding suppliers – it’s quite a nice way to spend a Sunday – especially if they finish at 3pm/4pm dare I say because this still gives me time to spend some quality family time afterwards. Usually Mr H does the cooking or takes Bethany and I out after a Sunday wedding fair so it’s all good…lol..but joking aside, wedding fayres are really useful for engaged couples as it gives you an insight into what’s involved with planning a wedding and what suppliers are available to you locally which I think is so very important. Certainly the wedding suppliers I know (who I now class as friends), are committed, friendly and professional in their work and I hope you agree that this is crucial when looking for businesses to help with your own wedding day.
I tend to exhibit at 5-6 fairs a year. I think that for something as special as wedding gowns it’s important for brides-to-be to meet me and see what sort of gowns I have. Most of the time brides take a leaflet and then contact me when they’re ready but alot of brides also book an appointment on the day as I always take my diary with me.
What I do find hard is choosing just 3-4 bridal gowns to take – from a selection of nearly 80-100 its so very hard to know what to take to a fair! I usually take a sample of accessories too so that customers know I also sell those – should they already have their wedding dress.
So if you’re planning a wedding or recently engaged, be sure to come to atleast one local wedding fair – you will be pleasantly surprised.
